What is a Card ID Number?        

We require the Credit Card ID Number for Visa, MasterCard, and American Express transactions. The Card ID appears only on your physical credit card. If you do not supply a Credit Card ID Number and NamesAreCheap cannot verify your credit card, then your transaction may be reversed.

 

 

Visa or MC: 3 digits
on back of card

AMEX: 4 digits
on front of card

The Card ID Number is a 3 or 4 digit number that appears on your credit card. This number is only available by looking at your physical credit card and is never printed on a receipt or stored in a database during an online transaction. Domain Direct requests that you provide the Card ID Number to ensure that someone is not using your credit card information fraudulently.

Note: The Credit Card ID Number is printed on your card; it is not raised from the surface of your card like your credit card's account number.
